Deborah Jenkins has been a civil marriage celebrant
(CMC) since 1990 and a Justice of the Peace (JP)
since 1992. She is member of Australian Federation
of Civil Celebrants. Apart from conducting wedding
ceremonies, Deborah does renewal of marriage vows,
baby naming ceremonies and funerals throughout
Sutherland Shire and Sydney.
Born
and raised in Malaysia and schooled in Scotland.
Deborah immigrated to Australia in 1976, married
and joined Qantas as a flight attendant in 1977.
Flying for 5 years, meeting and interacting with
many different nationalities and experiencing many
varied cultures and traditions, has given her a
much greater understanding and appreciation of people
as a marriage celebrant.
As
a mother of two, Deborah was elected to local
government for Sutherland Shire Council in 1990,
serving for five years and was deputy mayor for
two years.
Deborah
has always been in involved in sport, competing
in cross
country running and fun runs since 1978 and the
surf life saving movement, in the surf as an iron
woman since 1996.
